My Hero
By: R. A. Cvetich
My knight in shining armor
The Prince Charming that’s for me
Wears no metal armor
Just an Aeropostale tee
He carries such a weapon
That is not a sword at all
He fights his every battle
With just a soccer ball
He’s not out slaying dragons
And though he can’t grant wishes
He is champion of all
When it comes to washing dishes
He wasn’t rich with treasures
From that great day of his birth
But mountains of gold and jewels
Don’t compare to what he’s worth
A grand and towering castle
Is not where he arrives
But at a small white house
Sitting on Grand River Drive
He doesn’t reign the nations
He has no kingdom to impart
But when it comes to conquering
He’s the ruler of my heart
There is no where for him,
A princess so divine
But a simple girl, in love
Who is waiting for him online
And though he’s not a Prince
I am proud to be his girl
Some may say he’s just a boy
But he’s the hero in my world
