Fallen

My heart is racing rapidly

As your hand reaches for mine

Chills sweep my entire body

As our fingers intertwine

I feel you move so close to me

And then I am assured

That I am safe right there beside you

You’re keeping me secure

I rest my head upon your shoulder

And I can hear you breathe

I start to pray that time will slow

And that I’ll never have to leave

I never want to leave this moment

I want to stay there by your side

I never want to pull away

And I don’t even want to try

As you fall asleep I realize

I wouldn’t trade you for the world

And I can’t believe that you picked me

I thank God that I’m your girl

I refuse to fall asleep

Because I can’t miss anything

And I want to savor every moment

Of this feeling that you bring

Slowly I let my eyes close

And your heartbeat’s all I feel

I make sure that I’m not dreaming

I can’t believe this could be real

That you could be this close to me

Holding my hand tight

But this moment passes all too fast

And we’re forced to say goodnight

So now we are so far apart

And you're all I can think of

It is now that I admit the truth:

That I have fallen in love.
