"First Night of Snow"

First Night of Snow

By: R. A. Cvetich

All I need is to feel your touch

The sensation of your skin sweeping mine

Your arms holding me so close

Wrapping me in a blanket of warmth

That only your strong arms

And rapidly beating heart

Could provide

Your fingers gently brushing mine

Easing away the pain

Caressing troubles far from here

And sending my body

Into a passionate comfort

And oh, to feel your lips

Dance across mine

On that first night of snow

As the snowflakes slowly float down

From heaven

A contrast to the dense darkness

A velvet sky studded with diamonds

And the snowflakes encircle us with pure white beauty

That sparkles like the shine in your eyes

Telling me everything I’ll ever need to know

About true love

To sense your presence

So near to me

As the bitter cold lays its hands upon me

But the heat of your body keeps me warm

And you whisper in my ear

Secret words meant only for me

That cause my heart to flutter

And send tingles up my spine

I reach for you as my mind replays the words

That I will lock away in my heart

Forever

To feel your lips touch mine

Softly pressing against my own

In a whirlwind of desire

A kiss to wipe away the past

And allow the beautiful newness to arrive

The freshness of young love

New and pure and graceful

Like snowflakes dazzling in the night

Reflecting starlight

On that very first night of snow
