Blue Eyes
by: R. A. Cvetich
I close my eyes, pretending you are near
What I wouldn't give to have you here
I try to ignore the aching of my heart
How I wish that you and I were not apart
I long to hear the voice that makes me weak
For I tremble every time I hear you speak
And I know that it all would be worth while
If only I could see your precious smile
But sadly you are far and out of sight
And I must live without you for tonight
But come the sun, the glorious day and then
I may gaze into those blue eyes once again.
