Spring Break

On this long spring break
I wish that you could know
The part of me I left behind
The part that can't let go
I see the neverending water
I feel the ocean breeze
Along with the warmest sun
Drenching the palm trees
And all the wonders surrounding me
Are seemingly so unreal
But not even the Florida coast
Compares to what you make me feel
As I glance out at the ocean
And the glowing sunset skies
The scene before me comes not close
To the one that's in your eyes
I feel the wind come over me
The breeze I love so much
It doesn't even hold a contest
With the feeling of your touch
While the sunshine dances over me
And I feel its warming charms
I know it cannot even compare
With the warmth that's in your arms
I longed so deeply to escape
And I thought Florida would do
But in the end I only discovered
All I wanted was to be with you.
